Be Happy, Be You! Don’t Be A Victim To A Rut.

img_1907Everyone needs a little excitement in their life to build good self esteem. As a stay at home Mom of two very little boys, my life stays very exciting. Sometimes it’s not always for the good, but hey that’s life. Everyday is pretty much the same routine though and staying indoors can put you in a rut really fast.

Cabin fever can start to set in and you notice yourself slowly falling into the hole. The hole of staying in your pajamas all day, not wanting to leave the house, and your attitude slowly slipping in a downward spiral.

So for excitement, some people play the lottery, some have a glass of wine, many go out and buy new things, and the list goes on and on. What do I do? I dye my hair! My mother tells me all the time to stop dying it and let my hair go back to it’s natural color. But for that little amount of time it makes me feel good. I feel a boost in my self esteem level and I become more confident.

After my newly fresh makeover I can feel myself getting excited again. I want to get up, get dressed, and fix myself up. I can always feel my attitude start to change and my new look aids in boosting my self esteem. It  doesn’t always turn out for the best though, sometimes it has turned orange or green. Plus I always have those people who tell me, it looked better the way it was before. But to me, its hair and it will always grow back or I can also dye it again, if I’m lucky.

A big thank you to L’OREAL Paris #36 Deep Burgundy Brown for my huge drastic change.

My point is, everyone has their own ways of boosting their self esteem. If you don’t have that one thing, find it. It can be so simple as to dying your hair. Don’t let yourself be a victim to a rut. 1. I recently added purple extensions to my hair. Nothing crazy – but beautiful subtle streaks. It looks AMAZING {humbly said of course :)} and I’ve gotten so many compliments. I’m a mom of three, an elementary teacher, and on Sundays you can find me at church….. So purple extensions was NOWHERE in my typical playbook, but I’m hooked. I don’t think I can ever say goodbye to these fun little streaks!

    1. That’s awesome April! As longs as you love it, that’s all that matters. I wanted to do purple or something crazy but i talked myself out of it this time. I would totally do streaks though.

  2. This is great. I hate to say it but buying a new outfit boosts my self-esteem but I’m trying really hard to cut back on my spending next year so I am going to find a new way to find a pick-me-up like going for a walk or something. lol
