Being the Superhero that Your Child Looks Up To

Why do kids look up to superheroes? Mostly because of their superhuman powers, battling super villains, and saving the world. So, what if I told you moms are superheroes too?

A mother can go on very little sleep all while making sure her duties gets accomplished.

A mother hardly ever rests when she’s sick, she thrives to take care of those she loves.

A mother doesn’t stress when she’s not dressed to perfection, as long as those around her are dressed in clean clothes.

A mother doesn’t always smell the best because she will give up shower time to make sure her loved ones are bathed and clean.

A mother is last to be fed because she makes sure everyone at the dinner table has a full stomach first.

A mother very rarely gets time to herself because she’s taking care of the household chores, bills, shopping, and pampering others.

A mother doesn’t always let her emotions show because she’s too busy caring for her families’ emotions all while ensuring their happiness.

A mother doesn’t always have the finest things in life because she’s too busy buying those around her the things they need and sometimes want.

Everything a mother can accomplish in one day sure seems like a superhuman power to me! She’ll battle outside villains to protect her loved ones and keep her family safe. Although she may not necessarily be saving the world, she’s doing everything in the world to love, nurture, and attend to her loved one needs. So yes, I truly think that moms are superhero’s too. They’re someone to look up to and you can always count on to save the day.

So be the superhero that your child needs. Even if you don’t get your to do list done, and have the tidiest house as you may have hoped. Be there for your children, love them, and adore them. The years fly by too fast! So, take advantage of every second and cherish the memories while there in the making. Most importantly, protect them. No one in this world can protect your children like you can. Protect them from harm, protect their feelings, and keep them safe. You’re a superhero Mom and you’re appreciated!

  1. These are such great reminders! I have to tell myself that the cleaning and everything can wait because I always want to make sure things are done…it’s more important to take in the little moments!
