Gifts to Keep Your Preschooler Active All Winter Long

The Resourceful Chef

Christmas will be here before we know it! Can you believe it? I for one, can’t believe it.  It seems like I just turned around and now this year is almost over. I’ve started my shopping a little early because sometimes it’s just too hard to pass up a good deal. Also, because I’m a mother that tries to stay on a budget, so it’s easier to buy ahead.

Now that my boys are getting slightly older, I search for toys that will help my children remain active over the musical toys. I know I can always count on both Grandma’s to buy the loud toys anyways, ha-ha. It’s also very important that the kiddos remain active especially with winter fast approaching. They’ll be inside a lot more than usual with a lot of energy to burn. If I want to keep my sanity, then they’ll need a fun way to burn off some of that energy. So, Here is my top toys list of gifts that will keep your child active all winter long.

Intex Jump O Lene Castle Inflatable Bouncer, for Ages 3-6 Recently I bought this because it was on sale. It was the best money I’ve ever spent. The kiddos jump away while having a blast. It was very easy to assemble, and very durable. Sometimes we add their balls from their ball pit for extra added fun.

VTech Sit-to-Stand Ultimate Alphabet Train  This train is a fun activity toy but also keeps the children active. They can ride the train around the house or stop to learn and play. This train is intended for children ages 1-3. Its  great learning toy that introduces colors, letters, and numbers.

Little Tikes Attach in Play Basketball Set, basketball savings, tykes tots teens This hoop is one of my favorite toys because it doesn’t get in the way as it hangs on the door. You can also adjust the height as your children grow. It’s a great way to teach your young children how to take turns, and play the sport.
Playskool Play Favorites Sit ‘n Spin Toy Sit ‘n Spin is actually on my list to buy this year. I had one of these toys growing up and we would sit and spin forever it seemed. They’re so much fun and I really think that my kids’ are at the perfect age to really enjoy this toy.

Disney Junior Mickey Mouse Music Mat What better way is there to stay active than to dance? The kiddos can dance all day as they’re making music. This mat has a follow me memory game.

Little Tikes 3′ Trampoline is a great way for the little ones to burn off all that extra energy. I love the handle that adds stability for them. This trampoline is made for indoor use only.

Playz 4pc Pop Up Children Play Tent w/ 2 Crawl Tunnel & 2 Tents – Kids Tents for Boys, Girls, Babies & Toddlers for Indoor & Outdoor – Large Children Playhouse Ball Pit w/ Storage Case This play tent looks like the perfect indoor jungle gym that will defiantly keep your preschooler busy and active.

Space Hopper Ball with Pump, 18in/45cm Diameter for Ages 3-6, Hop Ball, Kangaroo Bouncer, Hoppity Hop is durable and safe. Its intended for children ages 3-6, with maximum sustainable weight of 160 lbs. The kids will defiantly have a ball with this toy.

Do you have any recommendations to add to this list? If so, than we would love to hear about them!

  1. I love these ideas so much! My daughter is super high energy and so anything to keep her entertained and active during the winter is awesome. I’ve just put a couple of these on my Christmas list! We already have the trampoline and sit and spin and she loves those!

    1. I’m glad it could help Bethany. We’ve recently purchased this bouncy house because my children have super high energy as well. It’s really incredible because they jump their little hearts out and have so much fun!
